Lichtenstein, inspired by his trip to Paris and viewing of Claude Monet's impressionistic paintings of haystacks, the work, and series is a pop art homage to the French painter. The series of seven "Haystack" prints runs from morning (yellow) to midnight (black, with embossing) each reflecting Monet's changing light effects.
