This is a very good quality TRIO of Coffee Cup, Tea Cup and Saucer that we attribute to the Coalport porcelain works, Shropshire, England, made during the George 111rd years, circa 1815. Both cups have the London or Grecian shape with all pieces beautifully boldly hand decorated in a very colourful Imari Chinoiserie pattern, popular at the time. All pieces are unmarked to the base. The pattern is beautifully hand painted in bold colors of burnt orange, green and cobalt blue, all in different shades with an "Imari" style floral pattern, all enhanced with gilded detail to the pattern, upper rim and outer handle. This is an Ironstone Tureen, complete with lid, made by Mason's of Lane Delph, Staffordshire, England, during the early part of the 19th century, circa 1825 to 1840. This is a rare shape piece in a rare pattern. This tureen and its lid are well potted in a circular shape with moulded handles to the base. The lid has a top knop or knob shapes as a flower head. This is a listed pattern, probably printed initially, then hand painted. The pattern is called "Fence, prunus and Plantain" and is a detailed chinoiserie Mason's pattern, as illustrated on page 96 in The Mason's collectors Club book " A Guide to Mason's patent Ironstone patterns, circa 1813-circa 1848". This is a good, late Georgian, ironstone Soup Bowl or Plate, in pattern no. 15, manufactured by the English Davenport factory, which was situated in Longport, Staffordshire, England between 1794 and 1887. This oriental garden pattern is transfer printed in cobalt blue of different shades, with hand gilded detail around the inner and outer rims. The pattern is called "Bamboo and Peony" which is Davenport's pattern number 15, a very early pattern and probably copied from a Chinese original. This exact pattern is illustrated on a plate in Godden's Guide to Ironstone, by Geoffrey A Godden, page 230, plate 176. Davenport were one of the earliest producers of Ironstone along with Mason's, Spode and others and called their ironstone pottery wears "Stone China". This is a hard paste porcelain tea pot and lid by New Hall dating to very early 19th century, George 111rd period, circa 1800 / 1805. The Teapot is well potted with an oval shape and high loop handle. The decoration is hand-painted in bold enamels in a chinoiserie pattern called "Boy or Lady in the Window" and is pattern number 425, with an upper rim dot and line border. This is a recorded New Hall pattern. A similar Teapot in the same shape with a different pattern is illustrated on page 112 of the book: An Anthology of British Teapots by Philip Miller & Michael Berthoud published by Micawber Publications. The base has the pattern number 425 hand painted in burnt orange, on the inner foot rim. This is a good Mason’s ironstone large dinner plate produced at the time when Mason's was owned and controlled by George L Ashworth and Brothers after the bankruptcy of C J Mason in 1848. This large plate is decorated in a the striking chinoiserie pattern called "Flying Bird" pattern, as illustrated on Page 121 of "A Guide to Mason's Patent Ironstone Patterns" published by The Mason's Collectors' Club. The pattern would have been transfer printed then boldly hand enameled with good detail. The plate also has a mid-brown / ochre hand painted outer rim simulating the Chinese plates of the time and earlier periods. The base carries a blue transfer printed mark Ashworth Brothers...
