This is a high quality Games Compendium, complete with over 8 individual games, all in its original hardwood storage box with a hinged lid.
All the pieces are well made and complete.
The box is made of a jointed hardwood, possibly red walnut and is a high quality piece in its own right.
The box has developed a lovely color and patination from use and wear.
The box lid has two brass hinges and two brass loop catches to secure it closed. The interior is sectioned into different sub compartments by hardwood dividers.

From our Accessories collection, we are pleased to offer this Dunhill Ladies Pocket Vanity Lighter. The Dunhill Lighter of petit size with leather panels upon a silver plate frame with petrol lift arm stamped Dunhill. The body of the lighter contains some secret compartments for ladies vanity accessories which is accessed via a thumb tab in the base which hinges up to reveal a mirror and two separate removable trays for make up. There is also a secret lipstick holder which is hidden in the side pocket mirroring the fuel tank. The base of the lighter is marked Prov. Pat. 14444/28 Reg.d. No 737179 and dates to the Mid-Century Modern period Circa 1930.

Dunhill Alfred Dunhill was Born September 30th 1872. From 1890 Dunhill ran a company that sold motoring accessories through mail order under the name Dunhill’s Motorities. In 1902 he opened a shop on Conduit Street, Mayfair which sold clothing and accessories to chauffeurs and their employers. In 1904 he developed the “windshield pipe”, which would allow motorists to smoke whilst driving, and went on to open a tobacconists in St. James in 1907. The shop offered tailored tobacco blends and its success meant that Dunhill could expand to shops in New York and Paris in the 1920’s. With his international ambitions Dunhill created a modern luxury goods market. In 1921 the company received its first royal warrant, as a tobacconist to Edward Prince of Wales. A controversial figure in later life, the Marquis of Stafford, George Granville Leveson-Gower - 1st Duke of Sutherland (1758 - 1833) was a patron of the arts, landowner, politician, diplomat and at times, the richest man in Britain. As part of the Leveson-Gower family of nobility, George was related to Dukes and Earls across the nation. Educated in Westminster and at Christ Church, Oxford, the later Marquis of Stafford was the Member of Parliament for Newcastle-Under-Lyme from 1779 - 1784 and the county of Staffordshire from 1787 - 1799. He also held positions as an Ambassador to France during their revolutionary years and held various other posts until his passing.

For your consideration is this excellent condition Art Deco ladies combination compact dating to 1928. This is a classic Art Deco Richard Hudnut Le Debut Cloisonné Powder, Rouge and Mirror Compact and is an absolute delight in every aspect and genuinely has appears never to have been used.
This compact features a black enamel lid with cream dotted accents; the back of the compact has a spider web machine-tooled finish to accent the octagonal shape of the compact. The case opens to a rouge compartment with a mirror in the lid that is behind a gold toned Art Deco decorated cover. The loose powder compartment is in the lower section of the compact; and it has a hinged and latched recessed door to hold a puff. This feature was a later addition to the initial solid powder product release of 1924 and has the patent date stamped on the underside of the hinged door reflecting an issue date of 1928. The original rouge is in untouched condition and still shows the embossed name Le Debut while the loose powder well is empty. Inside it is hallmarked "Le Debut", "Richard Hudnut" on the Art Deco mirror frame...
