This large hat-dress pin has been crafted with chinoiserie patterns in solid .800/.999 silver and mounted on top with a decorative element carved from natural Nephrite jadeite jade. Egyptian Winged Scarab
This kind of beetle was highly symbolic to ancient Egyptians, it represented rebirth and renewal. They believed that the sun was pushed across the sky every day by a giant scarab, the god Khepri. In real life, the scarab beetle lays its eggs in a ball of dung and rolls the ball ahead of it wherever it goes. Originated in Ancient Egypt. A scarab is shaped like a dung beetle. There is a head, wing case, and legs. It is sometimes rounded and sometimes flat. The scarab was associated with the god Khepri who was the god or rebirth, creation, and the sun. Dung beetles were the earthly personification of Khepri as they would lay their eggs in balls of dung and then roll the dung balls all around until the eggs hatched. Early hieroglyphics depict Khepri as a scarab holding up the sun. There were hundreds of memorial scarabs created to memorialize Amenhotep III’s deeds. These included the bull hunt scarab which symbolizes strength and victory over chaos. Later, around 2000 BCE the scarab was used in jewelry and as seals. The amulets were worn as protection against the dangers of this world and the afterlife. The scarab represented the sun god Ra that rolled across the sky each day. Mardi Jo Cohen was born in 1959. The Memphis style
Was emerged in 1981, when the Italian designer and architect Ettore Sottsass founded a group of artists and designers called Memphis. Bob Dylan’s song 'Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again' was playing on repeat during the group’s first meeting, which led to the group being named 'Memphis'. After the inaugural meeting, the group decided that they would meet again in February 1981. The members brought over 100 drawings with them, picturing a variety of bold, colorful designs with multiple stylistic influences. The Memphis Group went on to create furniture, fabrics, patterns, ceramics and other products in a distinctly Postmodern style that blended stylistic traits of 1950s kitsch, Art Deco, and Pop Art. If you love unashamedly brash and bold colors and patterns, you’ll be very happy to hear that the Memphis Style, the design style pioneered by the 1980s Memphis Group, is very much back in vogue.

Great antique piece, created in England during the Georgian period, circa 1820. This is a convertible pendant brooch carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and accented with applications of black enamel. Embelished with fine selection of gemstones such Dutch rose cuts diamonds and a Colombian emerald. It is fitted at the reverse with a hinged pin bar with a security hook to wear as a brooch. This piece can be also wear as a pendant.
It should be noted that the emerald and diamonds used in this piece are of exceptional quality. Seeing a piece from this period with an emerald of this quality is very rare and difficult. Usually these pieces with that kind of precious stones were disassembled during the later Victorian period to create new pieces. This is a great brooch of great rarity, with an excellent craftsmanship and surely a collector's item.
Diamonds: Accented with 8 old Dutch rose cut diamonds, 3.84 carats, white colorless F/G color, SI-1 clarity.
Emerald: Mounted with 1 semi round cabochon cut (7.1 x .2 x 4.5 mm) of a natural Colombian vivid green emerald of 1.70 carats.
Note: The emerald displayed in this piece, are from the Muzo region in Colombia, with great green color saturation, vivid green and transparent with no inclusions. Muzo is a town and municipality in the western Bocaya province, part of the department of Bocaya, Colombia. It is widely known as the world capital of emeralds for the mines containing the world's highest quality gems of this type.
Birthstone: Emerald for the month of May.

Giò Pomodoro, was an Italian sculptor, jeweler, printmaker, and stage designer. His brother is the sculptor and architect Arnaldo Pomodoro. In 1954 he moved to Milan, where he associated with leading avant-garde artists and started making jewelry. He then began to produce reverse reliefs in clay and also formed assemblages of various materials, including wood, textiles, and plaster subsequently cast in metal. During the 1960s, he developed several series of sculptures, which explored a range of abstract shapes, usually with smooth undulating surfaces. An Egyptian revival pendant brooch.
Fantastic piece, created in Roma Italy during the Papal States period, back in the 1850. This piece is really incredible detailed and was carefully crafted with Egyptian revival patterns, in solid rich yellow gold of 18 karats. It is embellished with several panels decorated with intricate micro mosaics depicting an Egyptian Pharaoh. Accented with patterns of dots and twisted tiny wires, geometrically placed.
The micro mosaic panels are Italian also, surely created in Venice during the same period from more than 800 microscopic pieces, carved from natural stones, such as; blue lapis lazuli, red jasper, black onyx, green malachite, black onyx, lava, creme nacre and 24k gold. This is piece of art, composed by elements from several artistic movements, carefully mixed together during the grand tour era, such the Victorian, the Etruscan and the Egyptian revivals.
Weight: 21.60 Grams, (13.85 Dwt).
Measurements: 42 mm by 60 mm (1.65 x 2.38 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with the old Papal States assay marks for the 18kt gold. One time with the Crossed Keys and a Cardinal Capello inside a triangle and one time with the maker's lozenge cartouche with the number 16 for the Roman identification goldsmith.
History of the Hallmark: The first statutes of the guild of Roman goldsmiths date back to 1358, in which was stated the rule of the warranty punch. The University of Goldsmiths was founded in 1508 and the statutes approved the following year introduced the use of the master's mark in addition to the previous guarantee mark. In 1738, with the reform of the Statutes of Goldsmiths, the guild acquired the name of "Nobil Collegio degli Orefici ed Argentieri di Roma" (Noble College of Goldsmiths and silversmiths of Rome). The warranty mark used prior to the French invasion was a series of "crossed keys of St. Peter under a liturgical umbrella" enclosed into shields, ovals or other geometric shapes.

An aerodynamic vintage piece of the Spatialism art movement (1947-). This Henning Koppel design was conceived after the war in the 1948, following the parameters of the new Spatialism art manifest.
The creation of this pieces was part of an extensive series of studios and was finally created into jewelry around 1950 in Denmark. Gold pieces was produced in extremely very limited editions.
It was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polished finish and is suited at the reverse, with a hinged vertical steam with a security lock to be used as a brooch and a loop to be used into a collar or chain.
This piece is the model number 1339, the biggest produced and have a total weight of 27.3 Grams (without wire, not included) and a measures are 60 by 49 mm (2.4 by 2 inches).
