2004 Moschino Runway Documented Pink Silk Chiffon Novelty Print Dress

About the Item

In 1983, Moschino launched Moschino Couture and found enormous success before his untimely death in 1994. He was succeeded by his long time collaborator, Rossella Jardini, who was at the helm when this pretty summer dress was created. It walked the runway as look 42/51 in Moschino’s lighthearted Spring 2004 collection. Always a brand to highlight eccentricities, the peachy-pink chiffon fabric is printed with a playful novelty print that depicts painterly figures dressed outlandishly. The dress has delicate spaghetti straps in the same fabric and is cut with a cross-over bust which forms a V-neckline. Below this, there is a waistband formed of pink grosgrain ribbon. A ruffle falls from below the ribbon down the front of this floaty gown. It fastens under the left arm with five hidden snap closures and a hidden tonal pink zip. The dress has a separate pale pink silk slip inside, which is trimmed with the same fabric that the outer dress is made from. In excellent vintage condition with no issues of any note. Labelled a US 10, UK 12 but on the small side and the measurements suggest a better fit for sizes UK 10-12 or US 6-8. The outer chiffon dress is 100% Silk with a lining of 100% Rayon. The fabric has no stretch. MEASUREMENTS BUST - 32 in. (81 cm) WAIST - 36 in. (91 cm) HIP - 42 in. (107 cm) LENGTH - 44 in. (112 cm)
