Scandinavian Mid-century design art sommerso glass vase by Gunnar Nylund
Located in Skarpnäck, SE
A fantastic and rather large handblown vintage art sommerso glass vase, design and signed by the talented Gunnar Nylund and Asta Strömberg from the prestigious Strömbergshyttan Sweden. This vase has a fantastic color, a deep smokey grey or nearly black color, covered with clear crystal. The design is simple yet very much of 60s and inspiration from the space age, it is sleek, elegant and sophisticated, especially with the fantastic contrasting color. -It is 27cm (10.62") high and 8.5cm wide (3.34") and 5cm deep (1.96") at the base, in a teardrop shape and in a good condition, yet some minor abrasion underneath, and micro soot flakes yet overall a fantastic vase. The price includes free shipping. Strömberghyttan; a company which early on grasped the importance of good design when it comes to art and design glass, rendering them a leading position in mid-century modern Scandinavian design. Interior design and decoration which stood out with a distinct quality, very much due to the famous designers Gerda and Asta Strömberg. Many items with iconic design which Strömbergshyttan became famed for was often creations made by Asta Strömberg, who designed most of the glass, focusing on modern art glass and other interior design objects such as crystal vases. The company also hired the multi-talented award winning and iconic artist and designer Gunnar Nylund as well as Rune Strand...

Eight 1960s Clear Glass Italian Empoli Duck Dog Fish Decanters Bottles and Vases
Located in Haarlem, NL
Very decorative rare clear glass set of eight different size Italian pressed glass bottles. This set is almost completely animal themed, a duck, a poodle, a dachshund and two fishes. But also a pressed Brutalist large cognac glass a petite blown glass carafe and a pressed so called 'corset' carafe. Mention Italian glass and probably everyone’s mind immediately leaps to Venice and Murano. But there is another almost equally famous centre of Italian glass making known as Empoli. Empoli glass is generally much simpler and does not have the intricately applied trim or decorations associated with Venetian and Murano pieces. The simple traditional styles of Empoli glass were quickly adapted to the abstract shapes of mid 20th century modernism. It became hugely popular as a decorative home accent, and was exported across the world. Now they are highly sought after by international collectors and look beautiful arranged together. All bottles have their stopper and are different in design, shape and size (height with stopper): Duck shaped genie bottle, 40cm high, 13cm wide, 12cm deep (15.7" x 5.1"x 4.7") Poodle bottle 38cm high, 14cm wide and 8cm deep Dachshund Wiener dog bottle 36cm high, 10cm wide, 9,5cm deep Fish decanter...

Vintage Mid Century Murano Glass Bowl in Matte Green with Orange Accents
Located in Milano, IT
Many are the different types of glass created by master makers on the Venetian island of Murano. From air-thin vases to expressive sculptures, also massive objects with deep and vivid hues of colour represent the great skills of glassmakers. The present bowl, most certainly made with a hint of uranium in the glass fuse to give it the peculiar greenish tone, is a perfect example of how attractive massive Murano glass can be. It can be dated approximately to the mid 1960s, based on the style and colors of the piece. Unsigned, as most pieces of that era, it shows great craftsmanship, and is preserved in beautiful conditions. No cracks, dents or damages of sort are visible, and just a light patina proves it is actually a 50 years old object.

Mid-Century Architectural Pottery "Double Cone" Planter by LaGardo Tackett
Located in St. Louis, MO
Mid-Century Modern Architectural Pottery sculptural "Double Cone" Planter by LaGardo Tackett , rarely seen double cone version with wider base than top in a white glaze. Provenance 1960s MCM building of the Odd Fellows Association Hall - St. Louis. It was used with sand for an ashtray , seen in photos 5 & 6. The 1960s MCM modification to an existing building was designed by architect William E. Duncan and demolished in the summer of 2020. Duncan not only selected these planters , the entire hall, had Saarinen , Eames, Nelson, Howard Miller and Nessen designs. The condition is good, only with minor scuffs, no chips and light staining to interior as seen in photos. Stamped Architectural Pottery made in the USA. When the planter is on its side, it reminds me of the famous brass drawer pull on Paul McCobb designed furniture. Building & Rendering Odd Fellows Association Hall at 3765 Lindell Blvd, St. Louis Mo. designed by William E. Duncan and Associate Architect Lawrence H.
