This magnificent and impressive antique Georgian sterling silver spirit kettle has a circular rounded form. The surface of the Georgian silver kettle is plain and embellished with a contemporary engraved coat of arms encompassed with a scrolling leaf decorated border/cartouche. This antique silver kettle is fitted with a plain flush hinged hallmarked cover; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece. The cover is surmounted with the original carved stained wood and sterling silver topped button style finial. This exceptional example of antique silver tea ware is fitted with the original hinged hand piece overlaid with interwoven wicker, strategically interlaced to produce a segmented braided design. The cast handle is further ornamented with scrolling decoration, in addition to substantial leaf sockets in junction with the body. The kettle is fitted with an impressive cast spout, accented with a scrolling design to the tip of the lip, in addition to moulded decoration to the lower portion. The kettle detaches from the original hallmarked sterling silver stand, supported by three impressive opposing scrolling legs. The upper portion of the cast silver stand features a band of oval motifs, with a flared shaped upper rim. A magnificent, fine and impressive antique William III English Britannia standard silver flat topped quart tankard; an addition to our range of collectable 18th century silverware. This magnificent antique William III Britannia silver tankard has a plain tapering cylindrical form onto a spreading collet style foot. The surface of this 18th century quart tankard is embellished with an impressive engraved leaf and floral bordered coat of arms depicting party per pale to the first a chevron between three lion's heads erased and to the second a bend raguly. The upper and lower portions of the body are encircled with bands of tooled decoration, with an applied moulded border to the upper rim. This antique quart tankard retains the original double stepped flat topped, hallmarked cover surmounted with an impressive volute scrolling thumbpiece. The cover is further ornamented with a band of tooled decoration to the rim accented with an applied shaped thumbpiece to the anterior edge. The hinge is decorated with ribbed ornamentation and retains the original pin. This antique Britannia standard silver tankard is fitted with an S-scroll handle ornamented with a plain rounded terminal. The spreading collet foot is encircled with a band of applied moulded decoration to the rim. Imperial quart = 2 pints/1.14 litres. Britannia silver - The Britannia silver standard of 958 (95.84% of fine silver), denoted by the icon of the seated Britannia holding an oval shield, was introduced by William III in 1697. This was to indicate the slightly higher standard of silver from sterling silver standard of 925 (92.5% of fine silver). The armourial bearings are those of the Wyndham and Penruddocke family, to commemorate the marriage of Henry Wyndham and Arundel Penruddocke on 11th September 1735. This is a beautifully hand painted Chinese Export porcelain plate or bowl from the Qing, Kangxi period, 1662-1722, fully marked to the base with the Kangxi period Artemisia Leaf mark within a double blue ring. The plate is of dinner plate size, finely potted with a carefully cut base rim and a lovely rich glassy, white glaze with a light blue tinge. The plate is carefully hand painted in a free flowing style, characteristic of the period, in varying shades of a clear cobalt blue, iron red and gold. The central well is decorated in the Imari style with flowering peonies, asters and other flowers and grasses, with a small insect flying above the flowers, all within two sets of concentric blue circles. The outer rim is richly decorated with flower sprigs and leaves, all within an outer blue circle. The base of the plate has a recognized and documented hand painted Kangxi symbol of an Artemisia Leaf, within a double blue ring. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George II English sterling silver lady's mug by Gabriel Sleath; an addition to our Georgian silverware collection. This exceptional antique early George II sterling silver mug has a plain baluster shaped form onto a circular domed spreading foot. The surface of this antique silver mug is plain and embellished with the contemporary engraved crest of a human head couped at the shoulders, surmounted with a coronet. The upper and lower portions are encircled with tooled decorated borders to the rims. This Georgian silver mug is fitted with an impressive S scroll handle with a plain thumbpiece ornamented with the contemporary engraved initials 'EMR'. Rare, very early George I period silver brandy/spirits warmer, Joseph Clare I, London, 1714. Wonderful, historically interesting 308 years barware piece. Classic circular tapering form with a shaped base, heavy solid silver with a beautifully turned oak handle. Fully hallmarked on the side of the body Period initials on the bottom of base N E M Measurements: 3.32 inches in diameter, 5.25 inches to the to of handle, 2.13 inches height of vessel. 1714 was the year George I ascended the throne, making this an interesting, very early piece of Georgian silver. Excellent piece in very good condition commensurate with age. Beautiful old patina on the silver and the fine oak handle.
