Vintage American Hand Hooked Rug in Block Pattern
Located in Barrington, IL
Vintage American hand hooked area rug in a block pattern circa the early 20th century. The very unique and beautiful design in this vintage folk art hooked rug consists of a 4 x 6 block pattern each containing a different design. The design in this hand hooked rug is unique since half the blocks are in a geometric pattern and the other half of floral pattern The design is set on a tan color background. The colors in each block are vibrant and make them stand out. Beautiful piece of Americana folk art to be used as a table top display or a wall art. The hooked rugs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries are made with recycled old material, often used clothing that had been cut into narrow stripes. The foundation of hooked rugs is generally burlap material which the maker uses the stenciling technique to transfer the pattern into the surface. Once the design has been transferred to burlap, it would then be filled with the recycled material stripes and more recently yarn using the hooking technique. The use of special design and the brilliant colors makes this truly an artistic piece wonderful to be used as a wall art or displayed on a table. Antique Hooked Rugs are a combination of Folk Art Creativity and Simplicity. Dimensions: 23” x 36” Date of Manufacture: Early 20th Century Place of Origin: United States Material: Wool and cotton on a burlap foundation Condition: Wear consistent with age and use, some edge wear The Persian Knot, SKU: 2212 Vintage Block Pattern Rugs, Vintage Geometric Block Hooked Rugs, Geometric Hooked Rugs...

Vintage Native American Indian Navajo Saddle Blanket in Red, Brown & Caramel
Located in Barrington, IL
This vintage Navajo saddle blanket, handwoven in the mid-20th century, features a distinctive wide band pattern in warm, earthy hues of red, brown, and caramel, beautifully set against a soft taupe background. The design, reminiscent of traditional Navajo Corn Husk bags, reflects the enduring artistry and symbolic expression central to Navajo weaving traditions. Crafted using the classic flat-weave technique, the piece is made from wool on a cotton foundation—an authentic construction method characteristic of Navajo textiles. The weavers employed natural, plant- and mineral-based dyes, sourced from their surrounding environment, to achieve the rich, organic color palette. The banded geometric pattern is both visually balanced and culturally meaningful, with design elements often rooted in spiritual symbolism and tribal storytelling. Originally intended as a saddle blanket, this textile easily transitions into a decorative floor covering or wall-mounted art piece, making it a versatile addition to any collector’s or designer’s curated space. Ideal for admirers of Native American craftsmanship, Southwestern aesthetics, and heritage textiles, this rug is a beautifully preserved representation of indigenous American artistry. Dimensions: 2’ 5” x 2’ 7” Date of Manufacture: 3rd Quarter of the 1900s Place of Origin: SW America Material: Wool on a cotton foundation with natural dyes Condition: Wear consistent with ager and use The Persian Knot Gallery, SKU 1653 Navajo Saddle Blanket, Navajo Rugs, Handwoven Rugs, Vintage Artisan Rugs, Antique Handmade Rugs, Sustainability, Allover Design Rug, Vintage American Folk Art, Native American Rugs, Americana, Native American Tribal Rugs, Two Gray Hills Rugs, Saddle Blankets, Native American Folk Art, Vintage Navajo Kilim Rugs, Native American Beadwork, Eye Dazzler, Vintage Navajo Blanket...

Vintage Edward Fields Carpet after a Design by Marion Dorn
By Edward Fields
Located in Milan, IT
Edward Fields has been creating bespoke luxury floor coverings in New York since 1930. His carpets are known for their unparalleled design, quality and craftsmanship. Among it's many prestigious commissions there is a carpet installed in the Diplomatic Reception Room in the White House, under specifications of First Lady's Jacqueline Kennedy's interior designer. Marion V. Dorn (1899-1964) was originally trained as a painter and this led her to develop her skills as a textile designer. During her formative years she worked in Paris and New York, and it was at the 1925 'Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes' in Paris that she first encountered the modernist rug designs of Ivan da Silva Bruhns and Maurice Dufrene. By 1930 she began her association with the Wilton Royal Carpet...
