Oversized Vintage Moroccan Tuareg Mat, with Geometric Stripes, from Rug & Kilim
Located in Long Island City, NY
This vintage Moroccan floor covering is a 12x17 Tuareg mat from the nomadic tribe of the same name. Handwoven with reeds and leather circa 1950-1960, its natural materials enjoy warm brown, beige and red tones in its geometric patterns. On the Design: Connoisseurs will admire Tuareg mats as distinct works with their own rich history and unique, masterful craftsmanship. This design is also one of few in its kind to favor a minimalist approach to the primitivist Berber geometric patterns. The large size further connotes a particularly intricate work—likely made by two or more weavers with meticulous detail. It’s as much a collectible piece of folk art and nomadic culture as a comfortable, durable floor covering today. Condition: This vintage Moroccan Tuareg mat...

Vintage Red Beni Mrirt Moroccan Rug, Cozy Nomad Meets Abstract Expressionism
By Beni Mrirt, Berber Tribes of Morocco
Located in Dallas, TX
20961 Vintage Red Beni Mrirt Moroccan Rug, 06'06 x 09'11. Witness the captivating allure of this vintage Beni Mrirt Moroccan rug, a masterful creation from the Mrirt region in the Middle Atlas Mountains, meticulously crafted by the skilled artisans of the Beni Mrirt tribe within Morocco's expansive Berber ethnic group. Celebrated for their refined craftsmanship, bold geometric patterns, and monochromatic color schemes, these Moroccan rugs embody an understated beauty that transcends conventional design boundaries. Immersed in luminous fiery hues, this Moroccan rug reveals itself as a canvas of abstract expressionism, reminiscent of painterly brush strokes. Its rich waves of abrash and softly gradated striations weave tales selvage to selvage, telling a story that transcends mere simplicity. The enigmatic red tones in this piece carry a deeper significance, resonating with cultural symbolism and historical meaning. In Morocco, this mystical shade symbolizes strength and protection, captivating hearts across art, fashion, and interior design scenes. Beyond being a floor covering, this red Beni Mrirt carpet has the transformative power to turn nearly any space into an extraordinary masterpiece. Going beyond its mystical aura, this vintage Moroccan rug becomes a living embodiment of Abstract Expressionism, echoing the bold color blocks reminiscent of Mark Rothko. Yet, it retains the intrinsic nomadic charm of Berber Tribe artistry. It stands as a testament to the beautiful fusion of diverse cultures, symbolizing cross-cultural exchange and artistic collaboration. Immerse yourself in the enchanting dance between worlds as this Beni Mrirt rug unfolds, inviting you to celebrate the beauty emerging from the harmonious union of unique traditions. Allow yourself to be transported to a captivating realm, where this Berber rug becomes your magic carpet ride, weaving tales of an enchanting Moroccan paradise. Oversized Berber Moroccan Rug, Wabi-Sabi Meets Abstract Expressionist Style
By Helen Frankenthaler, Berber Tribes of Morocco, Ad Reinhardt, Fernand Léger
Located in Dallas, TX
21140 Oversized Abstract Moroccan Rug, 13'04 x 17'04. Emulating Wabi-Sabi and Abstract Expressionist style, this hand knotted wool oversized Berber Moroccan rug is a captivating vision of woven beauty. The perfectly imperfect tribal design and intense earthy color palette woven into this piece work together creating a bold, expressive look. An allover pattern composed of unusual geometric shapes, short horizontal bands of color, and ambiguous tribal motifs are sporadically dispersed across the beige backdrop. Reflecting elements of Abstract Expressionism and a bold art form, this authentic Berber carpet draws inspiration from Ad Reinhardt, Fernand Leger, Clyfford Still and Helen Frankenthaler. It is truly 'Art You Can Walk On'! Perfect for adding organic textile sensations to living room, family room, bedroom, home office, large library or study, studio, game room, billiards room, playroom, children's area, home theater, large entertaining space, hotel lobby, or a lounge area. Well-suited for a variety of interior styles: Cubism, Orphism, Abstract Expressionism, Fauvism, Surrealism, Futurism, Cubist, Retro, Modernism, Contemporary, Expressionist, Postmodern, Art Moderne, Hygge, Mys, Mysigt, Tribal, Boho Chic, Bohemian, Nomadic, Midcentury Modern, Industrial, Loft, Urban, and Eclectic. Iconic in its styling, this modern Moroccan rug would also complement esoteric ambiences from avant-garde estate homes, contemporary chateaus, and ultramodern coastal villas to luxury ski chalets, exclusive hunting lodges and affluent mountainside manor found in Colorado, Lake Tahoe, Wyoming, or the Adirondacks. Rendered in variegated shades of beige, navy blue, brick red, charcoal, ink blue, gold, rose, mauve, lavender, gray, and light green with other accent colors. Abrash. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Morocco. Berber Tribes of Morocco. Measures: 13'04 x 17'04. Hotel Lobby Size Carpet 13 x 17 Rug...

Vintage Moroccan Wedding Blanket, Berber Handira with Original Cape Ties
By Berber Tribes of Morocco
Located in Dallas, TX
21545 Distressed Vintage Moroccan Wedding Blanket, Berber Handira with Original Cape Ties 03'09 x 05'05. This handwoven wool vintage Moroccan Wedding Blanket also known as a Berber Tamizart Handira features rows of fluffy fringe embellished with paillette sequins. The underside of this vintage Handira blanket displays Kilim bands on a black backdrop with yellow and red accent colors. These bands are linked back to the flat-weave kilims of the region. This particular Moroccan Handira still has the two ties attached- it was worn by the bride as a cape. The ties on the Handira Tamizart secure it around the bride's shoulders for warmth during the ride to her new home. Generally woven by the bride's family members, these Moroccan Handiras are symbolic textiles infused with the Baraka to bestow blessings. Moroccan wedding blankets are believed to keep away evil spirits, bring good luck to the new married couple, and bequeath fertility. The depth of meaning presented in this cream-colored, sequin adorned cherished textile is what make Moroccan Handira wedding...
