About the Item

A great set of club lounge chairs designed by an alum of Philadelphia's own University of the Arts, Bill Stephen was a designer and director at Knoll where he produced a series of chairs. This model '1315' chair can unquestionably be considered a re-visitation of Eero Saarinen's famed Womb Chair; another Knoll classic. In Stephen's design, the frame is made from expertly laminated bentwood. A highlight of this chair is the artful movement of wood, a flow which seemingly surrounds the upholstered seat with tremendous ease, bottom end jutting out below to create a floating, airy appearance. Restored to their original grandeur, masterfully upholstered in a crisp classic ivory Bouclé. This fantastic set of two vintage chairs are perfectly plushy and ready for to melt into! It is rare to find such quality pieces.
