About the Item

Available today, this Mid-Century Modern Bar cart in Hardwood and White Formica designed by Sergio Rodrigues in Brazil in the 60s is nothing less than spectacular! The bar cart is entirely made in Brazilian Rosewood (known as Jacaranda) with the four original chrome wheels and two movable trays white white Formica top. There are three reasons why we LOVE this bar cart so much. First, Rodrigues’s iconic style is all over the piece. For instance, the top handle looks just like Sergio’s famous Cantu chair Second, the versatility and Size of the piece. The trays are easy to remove and put back and the perfect Size will fit almost any interior. Lastly, The quality of the rosewood is nothing less than spectacular. The wood has been refinished and reveals stunning veins throughout the entire piece. The woodwork is also exquisite and can be seen on the edges. Besides minor marks in the legs, the table is in excellent condition. A beautiful bar cart like this could easily be flexed into any Mid-Century Modern, modern, or contemporary environment and can be played up to be more maximalist or Minimalist with its surroundings. The piece is displayed in our showroom next to Sergio Rodrigues Millor sofa and two rosewood off white leather armchairs and the convo looks just perfect. For the history buffs here, it goes. Sergio Rodrigues started working in the 1950s when the foundations of modern Brazilian architecture were already laid out, yet furniture design was still nascent. Rodrigues set himself the task of designing furniture that was both truly Brazilian and modernist at the same time. Over the course of his career, he accomplished this task by defining a robust, modern, and pure language reflected in his work. Size: H29.5, W25.6, D16.9 (in) H75, W65, D43 (cm).
