André Derain Framed 'Paysage à l'Estaque' Color Lithography, circa 1972
Located in Barcelona, Barcelona
Original 'Hyde Park' color lithograph by André Derain. Lithograph printed from an original painting made by the author in France in 1906. Published by Fernand Mourlot in Les Fauves. Paris, circa 1972. Framed and signed in the stone. Frame will be slightly different from the one on the photos, each piece will be framed once it sells, this is an exhibition frame. In good original condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. About the Artist: André Derain (10 June 1880 – 8 September 1954) was a French artist, painter, sculptor and co-founder of Fauvism with Henri Matisse. Derain and Matisse worked together through the summer of 1905 in the Mediterranean village of Collioure and later that year displayed their highly innovative paintings at the Salon d'Automne. The vivid, unnatural colors led the critic Louis Vauxcelles to derisively dub their works as les Fauves, or "the wild beasts", marking the start of the Fauvist movement. In March 1906, the noted art dealer Ambroise Vollard sent Derain to London to produce a series of paintings with the city as subject. In 30 paintings (29 of which are still extant), Derain presented a portrait of London that was radically different from anything done by previous painters of the city such as Whistler or Monet. With bold colors and compositions, Derain painted multiple pictures of the Thames and Tower Bridge. These London paintings remain among his most popular work. Art critic T. G Rosenthal: "Not since Monet has anyone made London seem so fresh and yet remain quintessentially English. Some of his views of the Thames use the Pointillist technique of multiple dots, although by this time, because the dots have become much larger, it is rather more simply the separation of colours called Divisionism and it is peculiarly effective in conveying the fragmentation of colour in moving water in sunlight." He experimented with stone sculpture and moved to Montmartre to be near his friend Pablo Picasso and other noted artists. Fernande Olivier...

Peter Buchman "Once Upon a Time", Voice-Over Paintings Series, 2025
Located in New York, NY
Contemporary New York artist Peter Buchman's "Once Upon a Time" is made of laser cut plexiglass, acrylic medium and enamel on wood. It's a part of his Voice-Over series. To explain that Buchman’s word paintings are ‘A Figure Of Speech’ is underestimating the level of soulfulness at which these works reside. They are markings directly from the artist’s hand yet are indications of many people before him. These are words from familiar phrases, music albums, his funny brand of irony and the human form itself. For this piece, in a manner of speaking, we are all running out of time, however Buchman’s soliloquy and ironic eye has fun with the notion that with humor and self effacement in a street-run-on sentence kind of rap he can get away with making fun and pointing out the obvious. Which isn’t always so obvious. Signed and dated en verso. This is a commissioned piece and will ship directly from the artist's studio. American artist Peter Buchman has BFA in Illustration from The Rhode Island School of Design and did a Sculpture Residency at The School of Visual Arts in New York. Peter's artwork has been exhibited throughout the US since 1981 including the Parrish Art Museum (Southampton, NY), Cooperstown Museum (NY), Delaware Museum of Art, Kidder Smith Gallery (MA) and Vered Gallery (East Hampton, NY). His work is included in the portfolios of collectors including Beth Rudin DeWoody, Nicole Miller, David Yurman and Howard Schultz...

Franco Fontana Italian Vintage Photographic Print, 1975
Located in Reggio Emilia, IT
Vintage chromogenic photographic print by Franco Fontana with original dedication on the back. Signed and dated by the author at the base Franco Fontana: (Modena, Italy - December 9, 1933) is an Italian photographer, photojournalist and writer. He began photographing in 1961. A frequent photographer at the "Fotoclub", his activity is mainly amateur, even though he carries out aesthetic research on various themes. Very important will be those dedicated to the abstract expression of color, carried out in a period in which abstract art in photography was to be found exclusively in black and white. In 1963 he exhibited at the Third International Biennial of Color in Vienna; the year after Popular Photography publishes, for the first time, a portfolio with text by Piero Racanicchi. He held his first solo exhibitions in 1965 in Turin (Subalpina photographic society) and in 1968 in Modena (Galleria della Sala di Cultura). The exhibition in his hometown marks a turning point in his research. Its complex activity and the international importance of its production can be summarized in some figures. Over 70 books have been dedicated to him, published by Italian, French, German, Swiss, Spanish, American and Japanese publishers; he has exhibited in public museums and private galleries around the world - over 400 personal and group exhibitions he has held so far. His works are preserved in over fifty museums around the world, including: International Museum of Photography, Rochester; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museum of Fine Arts, San Francisco; Museum Ludwig, Cologne; Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Kunsthaus Zurich; Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, Turin; The Photographic Museum, Helsinki; Puskin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow; The University of Texas, Austin; Museum of Modern Art, Norman, Oklahoma; San Paolo Art Museum; Israel Museum, Jerusalem; Metropolitan Museum, Tokyo; Beijing National Gallery; The Australian National Gallery, Melbourne; The Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney - and private. He has received important awards and prizes, in Italy and abroad. He has collaborated and collaborated with magazines and newspapers: Time-Life, Vogue USA, Vogue France, Il Venerdì di Repubblica, Sette, Panorama, Epoca, Class, Frankfurter Allgemeine, New York Times.
