Japanese Art / Kimono Art - Seasonal Flowers -
Located in Shibuya City, Tokyo
Japanese Kimono Art by Kimono-Couture Title:Seasonal Flowers This Japanese Kimono Art is a one-of-a-kind wall art, painstakingly created by Japanese craftsmen. The bright pink color of this wall art is made from silk fabric, and the beautiful flowers of the Four Seasons are painted on the fabric. The beauty of the artwork can be appreciated by holding it in one's hands. The point we especially want to convey is the language of plum blossoms. Because of its dignified appearance in full bloom, the plum tree has long been loved in Japan for its meaning of elegance and integrity. The cool silver plum blossoms on a bright pink background give the impression of elegance and integrity. By decorating your room with this Kimono Art, you can experience the Japanese Four...

Qing Dynasty 19th Century Ancestral Group Painting on Hand Painted Parchment
Located in Yonkers, NY
A Chinese Qing Dynasty period painting from the 19th century of an ancestral group portrait in custom frame. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Chinese history with this Qing Dynasty period painting, an ancestral group portrait from the 19th century that masterfully captures the essence of traditional Chinese society and family hierarchy. This vertical painting, housed in a custom composition wood frame with plexiglass, is a testament to the time-honored artistry of Qing Dynasty artists. Crafted on parchment paper, the painting displays generations of ancestors in a systematic, frontal arrangement. The chromatic spectrum of their robes - blues, reds, greens, golds, blacks, and oranges - adds vibrant depth to the ancestral tribute. Civil officials are distinguished by bird-adorned buzi, an emblem of their rank. In line with tradition, the portrait hierarchy descends from top to bottom - the older generation presides at the top, followed by subsequent generations. The men are positioned on the right, the women on the left, reflecting the societal norms of the period. Bordering the parchment, a silk frame contributes an elegant finish. Display this painting above a credenza, console table, or enfilade, and it promises to enhance any interior space with its captivating allure and cultural resonance. This Qing Dynasty painting...

Japanese Kimono Art / Kimono Tapestry, the King of Peacocks
Located in Shibuya City, Tokyo
This Japanese kimono tapestry is the only one of its kind in the world. It has been carefully and meticulously embroidered by Japanese craftsmen. We are proud to present this Kimono tapestry, embroidered with peacocks and flowers of the four seasons on a silk fabric based on the traditional color called “Kinari.” The peacock symbolizes “compassion,” “fertility” and “good health.” Because its life force is so strong that it eats poisonous snakes and insects, the peacock is believed to ward off evil spirits and prevent against “misfortune” and “suffering.” Japan is famous for its drastically different seasons. As the colorful flowers bloom, we can sense that the seasons are changing. Each of the flowers on this piece are carefully chosen. Plum blossoms, wisteria, and cherry blossoms in the spring; iris and hollyhock blossoms in the summer; chrysanthemum blossoms and grapes in autumn; and peony blossoms in the winter. This is a wonderful Japanese tapestry...

Antique hanging scroll of Japanese cat/Late Edo-Meiji period/Cat painting
Located in Sammu-shi, Chiba
This is a picture of a cat drawn by a person named "Toshizumi Nitta" from the end of the Edo period to the beginning of the Meiji period. She is a very simple and cute cat. He is a vassal of the Tokugawa Shogunate, born in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture (southern part of Gunma Prefecture). He was related to the Tokugawa family and lived in a large mansion in the Ota clan in Gunma prefecture. However, the Nitta family's territory was very small, and they were by no means a wealthy vassal. He seems to have lived quite poorly. So he painted cats and sold them to people. The Nitta family continued to draw pictures of this cat for four generations. "Nitta toshizumi" is equivalent to the fourth generation. During the Edo period, sericulture was thriving in the Kanto region. Cats were said to be the gods of silkworms, as they drive away mice, the natural enemies of silkworms. It was the Nitta family who drew such a cat on paper, pasted it in the silkworm chamber, and sold it as a mouse repellent. There were also other monks who painted pictures of cats, but the Nitta family in particular was related to the Tokugawa family, so people believed that paintings of cats had special powers. , a lot of paintings...

Located in Atlanta, GA
Made entirely from luxuriant woven brocade (kinran) for the exterior, this Japanese sleeveless jacket is called Jinbaori. Commonly worn by the Samurai warriors during 16th century when warfare was common in feudal Japan, this type of loose jacket, as a surcoat on top the armor, served as an extra protection, and more importantly as an identification in the battlefield with its bright colors and often Mons. In Edo period, the society was stabilized and Jinbaori gradually shifted toward a pure ceremonial function.
