About

The activist street pop art silkscreen print ‘Pollution Resolution’ is one of Hijack’s latest limited edition contemporary works created in 2020. The street style urban landscape imagery is based on the massive mural installation currently ‘on view’ in the streets of Los Angeles, California. The emerald city imagery opens up a dialogue about the increasingly important role nature plays in quality of life and particularly, within cities around the world. Hijack commented on the message of the work, “It has never been such a task to breathe freely but there is still time to be part of the solution, not the pollution!” Hijack has become recognized on a global scale for his activist mentality and has recently been incorporating themes of environmentalism and global climate awareness into his artworks. The visual commentary is thought provoking and captivating with vibrant pop-art colors of cherry red, powder blue, sunshine yellow and brilliant kelly green. The 'Pollution Resolution' print is part of a limited release of only ninety-two in existence, the work is signed by the artist on the right front corner and is stamped and dated on verso. Arriving ready-to-install, the blue chip print is custom framed in a matte white finish and is completed with museum caliber non-glare UV protective glass. The young street-art star has developed a consistent signature style that fluidly blends the worlds of contemporary and street-art together in a mixture similar to that of his mentors, such as the legendary Banksy, Shepard Fairey, KAWS, and his father, Mr. Brainwash. Hijack’s work is a direct approach to present day cultural commentary, he creates daring thought-provoking, layered concepts with visually vibrant presentation. Hijack has crafted a persona, inspired by the spirit of music and the poetry of everyday moments, that creates colorful and meaningful perspectives on life. Hijack's blue chip artworks continue to inspire revelation in the art world as he creates with imaginative landscapes, brilliantly constructed juxtapositions, and activist ideologies. Hijack’s work comments on the contemporary world in a humorous, refreshing, and thought-provoking manner as he continues to be a sensational Artist in galleries and cultural hot spots around the globe. HIJACK, born in 1992, started as an underground street artist, silently stenciling the streets at night. In April 2013, Hijack took the United Kingdom art scene by storm with his gallery debut at the prestigious Mead Carney Fine Art gallery on Dover Street in London. The show was so highly anticipated that it sold out and extended, due to incredulous high demand. Works including, “Never too Young to Dream Big” and “Perfection is False,” struck a chord with the crowd. When Hijack took his vision to the streets, spraying a stencil of “Never too Young to Dream Big” in London, it quickly caught the attention of UK news outlets and websites. The Mead Carney exhibition garnered buzz and Hijack’s landmark debut was featured in Art of England’s June 2013 issue, Huffington Post UK, The Art Newspaper, & The Telegraph, to name just a few. In October of 2013, Hijack was invited, along with Mr. Brainwash, to do an exhibit at the Dieresis Cultural Center in Guadalajara, Mexico. The exhibit was extended for months, attracting large crowds, drawing a mass of media attention, and delighting art collectors and audiences internationally. 2014 proved to be an incredible year for Hijack, propelling his meteoric rise within the art scene. In June, Hijack mounted a solo show at Galerie Moretti & Moretti, one of Paris’ best contemporary galleries, entitled “Life Through Street Art.” In November, Hijack had his Asian debut, with an exhibition at Japan’s Gallery 21. The Gallery 21 show created an avalanche of press for Hijack, including a feature in Vogue Japan. In addition to his gallery shows and solo street art installations, Hijack also collaborates with other internationally-renowned street artists, including New York’s Cope and Japan’s Dragon 76. In early 2015, Hijack continued to take his art all over the globe with a show at the Artvera’s Gallery in Gstaad, Switzerland at the Gstaad Palace Hotel, done in partnership with Swiss watchmaker, Hublot. The winter setting was the perfect place for Hijack’s stark and colorful pieces, thirty of which he debuted at this vibrant and dramatic exhibition. While his art was being exhibited in Switzerland, Hijack’s works were also on display at the Wall Street Gallery in Beverly Hills for the group show, “Revolution”. The Wall Street Gallery show contained several of Hijack’s captivating works including, “You can mimic the result but not the creativity”. In 2016, Hijack created a limited edition series of skateboards in collaboration with other artists such as Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, and John Baldessari. His exhibitions have been sensational and brought fresh energy to 2017 ArtMiami and Art Palm beach. For Hijack, art is a lifestyle and a passion. His signature style, steeped in positivity, presents a bright future for the next generation of contemporary artists. He is based currently in Los Angeles, California where he continues to work as a street artist and contemporary phenomenon. Much like the meteoric rise of contemporary masters before him, such as Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Keith Haring, Hijack is gaining popularity with contemporary collectors from all over the world and shows no signs of slowing down.
