Leave it to Rihanna to flex in a birth-announcement post. After months of modeling inspiring maternity looks, the singer and billionaire businesswoman announced the arrival of Rocki Irish, her third child with A$AP Rocky and their first daughter. In the Instagram post, Rihanna cradles the newborn baby, who is flanked by two pink bows. Even with the exaggerated size of said bows (and cuteness of said baby), we couldn’t help noticing her watch and jewelry.
Visible under Rocki is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, a design that debuted in 1972 as the first luxury sports watch made with stainless steel. Rihanna’s rose-gold Royal Oak has a pink dial, aligning with baby Rocki’s frilled pink socks and pink outfit. A$AP Rocky had told Elle they were “praying for a girl,” so the birth announcement’s rosy theme can be read as a celebration of prayers answered.
In the photo, Rihanna also wears a gold R pendant, representing the initial she, A$AP Rocky and all three of her children share. The necklace was designed by Renato Cipullo, brother of Aldo Cipullo, who designed Cartier’s iconic Love and Juste un Clou bracelets.
