An exceptional, fine and impressive, pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver bottle labels / tickets made by Hester Bateman; part of our wine related silverware collection. These exceptional and collectable George III sterling silver wine labels have a curvilinear ovoid-shaped form. These antique silver labels / tickets are ornamented with a bright cut engraved and pin struck scrolling designs accented with gadroon decorated scrolling leaf motifs paralleling the borders. The body of each label is engraved with the individual wine or spirit: 'Port' and 'Hock'. The upper portion of each label features a circular cartouche ornamented with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a demi-lion, holding between the paws a roundel. These Georgian silver bottle labels are suspended by two ring loops and connected by silver round link chains. These fine bottle labels, crafted by the renowned female London silversmith Hester Bateman. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Charles II English sterling silver porringer; part of our collectable silverware collection. This exceptional antique Charles II sterling silver porringer has a circular rounded form onto a collet base. The surface of the porringer is embellished with an impressive chased hunting hound to one side and a stag to the other, all amidst large foliate designs and incorporating pinstruck swirl designs. This English silver porringer is fitted with two impressive cast, leaf decorated S-scroll handles with elevated figural shaped thumbpieces. Note: After surviving the Great Fire of London the records at the London Assay office were destroyed by fire in 1681; their catalogues and documentation began again in 1697. This exceptional antique George III sterling silver cream jug by Henry Chawner has a circular rounded form onto a pedestal with a circular spreading foot and square base. The upper portion of the body is ornamented with a band of bright cut engraved arched decoration with alternating leaf designs to the lower portion, emanating from the pedestal. The rim of the body is encompassed with an applied reed decorated border. This fine example of Georgian silverware is fitted with a narrow loop handle ornamented with plain applied moulded decoration. The underside of the spout is ornamented with bright cut engraved batwing style fluted decoration. The surface of the reed decorated foot and square base are embellished with further bright cut engraved and pin struck leaf motifs and simple paralleling border.
