A Rare George I Sterling Silver 'Rat-Tail' Marrow Scoop / Spoon, London 1721
About the Item
A rare George I sterling silver marrow scoop, showing an elongated bowl at either end of the flattened stem - the heel on the underside of the larger bowl showing a 'rat tail' element. The underside of the stem impressed with London hallmarks, date letter for 1721 and partially rubbed makers marks for noted London silversmith William Spackman (working 1712 - 1726).
