About the Item

Crafted by Sergio Rodrigues (1927-2014) in 1958 and produced by Oca, the Mucki bench is a versatile and remarkable piece suitable for various settings, both indoors and outdoors. The Mucki bench features a low and well-structured rectangular base, with latitudinally positioned slats. Its simple yet elegant design, accentuated by rhythmically placed small wood buttons, distinguishes it as a standout piece. This 3m long Mucki bench is constructed from solid Rosewood, exhibiting beautiful natural tones and veins that enhance Rodrigues' artistic creation. Manufactured by Oca until Sergio Rodrigues' departure from the company in 1968, the Mucki bench has seen re-editions by licensed companies since 2001. The presented piece is an original from the 1960s and is in excellent vintage condition, showcasing the enduring appeal of Rodrigues' design. Additionally, it measures 3 meters in length and 80 centimeters in depth. A rare measurement for the piece, which accentuates the fact that it's a made to measure Mucki bench. 80cm in depth has only been made for a handful of people and the last one to have been sold dates from 2016. The piece also comes with a certificate that authenticates it.

Rosewood Bench by Celina Decorações, 1960s, Brazilian Midcentury Design
By Celina Decoracoes
Located in New York, NY
This gorgeous bench was produced in the 1960s by Celina Decorações, which signed one of the most modern lines of Brazilian furniture at the period. It consists of a very well-constructed piece in solid Rosewood, with slats rhythmically positioned supported by two boards working as lateral feet. One of the most beautiful details to pay attention to is the slats' perfect straight finish on the edges that contrast and highlight the organic curves on Rosewood veins. Ideal for indoor uses, this bench offers statement seating in any space. Based in Rio de Janeiro, the Celina Decorações factory imposed high-quality standards, maintaining handcrafted characteristics. The company was created in 1951 when Munis Zilberberg takes over the family business - a small upholstery workshop that worked on refurbishing sofa beds and antique furniture. The name is a tribute to her mother, Celina Zilberberg...
