Raymond Loewy DF-2000 Orange Plastic Drawer Media Cabinet Credenza
By Raymond Loewy
Located in Chattanooga, TN
The restoration team pulled no punches on this authentic Raymond Loewy Media Cabinet Credenza, and the end result exceeded our expectations. Every inch of the wood doors and side panels were re-painted to match the original dark mocha color. The back panel was in very good condition, so we left it original. As you can see, this unit is fully finished on the back and attractive from every direction. The orange, infection molded plastic drawer fronts were finally buffed and polished to a glassy shine. The cabinet is supported by a brand new plinth base that we fabricated in our workshop. It's painted black to match the original. Except this time, we used solid pine instead of composite material. Lastly, we covered the painted white top with a sheet of white laminate to increase durability and practicality. No need to worry about water marks and scratches with this new top. The industrial strength Formica is also ideal for TV and stereo components...

Description: This exceptional bleached oak buffet from France stands out with its striking geometric lattice design. Crafted in the mid-20th century, it blends a strong, clean structure with intricate detailing that speaks to the craftsmanship of the period. Features: Craftsmanship: The buffet features a meticulously carved lattice pattern on the outer doors, paired with a central door adorned with a bold, inset panel. The combination of geometric shapes and clean lines makes this piece a true statement in both craftsmanship and design. Bleached Finish: The bleached oak finish brings out the natural grain of the wood, lending a light and airy feel while preserving the warmth of the material. This finish makes the piece versatile for a range of interior styles, from traditional to modern. Elegant Hardware: Equipped with simple brass knobs, the understated hardware complements the overall design without taking attention away from the intricate carvings. Sturdy Base: The buffet sits on a solid wooden base with splayed legs, adding a mid-century modern touch. This base design not only provides support but also enhances the visual appeal of the piece. Spacious Storage: With three large doors, the buffet offers ample storage space, making it perfect for storing dinnerware, linens, or other household items. The thoughtful balance between aesthetics and practicality ensures that it is both functional and stylish. Condition: The buffet is in excellent vintage condition with only minor signs of wear, consistent with age, which adds to its character and charm. Styling Tips: Place this buffet in a dining room or living space as a standout piece. Its unique lattice design can be complemented with minimalist or natural décor elements like ceramics or woven baskets. French Renaissance Armoire
Located in Saint-Ouen, FR
Original lock and key This piece of furniture shows no recess on its upper part. It opens with four folding-doors and two drawers within the belt. The key bears the date 1524 above cross motifs. Burgundy and Lyon regions subordinated themselves to architecture in a different manner than the other french schools. Rather than using particularly columns and pediments pieces of furniture from Lyon borrow architecture’s organization principles and rigorous designs. On the upper body a strong feeling of balance and symmetry appears with the folding doors reliefs. Swags of flowers and fruits held with knot cloth centered by a man seating on his arms. Here profiles, masks and chou de Bourgogne mingle with the structuring scrolls. The two lateral terms wear draperies and the goddess Diana in the center wears a belt of fruits similar to Hugue Sambin’s designs (Termes de Diane et de Venus, 1554, BNF). The two palm-leaves enriched drawers and the alternating scrolls belt balance the weight of the cornice with its alternatings consoles and tops. The lower body is also adorned by three terms with a feminine one in the center, all three are wearing fruits on their heads. The folding doors are centered upon a motif of cut cuirs by a mask in high relief. Wearing a feathered tiara...

Large Early 19th Century Empire Chest Of Drawers, Mahogany, Ormolu, Paris, 1810
Located in Greven, DE
Large Empire chest of drawers Paris Mahogany Early 19th century Dimensions: H x W x D: 97 x 136 x 68 cm Description: The architecturally designed front of the chest of drawers is divided into three zones. A plinth connected to the floor forms the lower section, on which two sturdy columns rest, supporting the upper section, which houses a large drawer. Three further drawers are housed in the centre section of the chest of drawers, which recedes behind the columns. A black granite top forms the upper end. The drawers, the back panel and the body are made of oak, except for the panels in the side walls. The top section with the ledge drawer is connected to the body with wooden wedges and can be removed for transport. This detail can be clearly seen in one of the photos. Exquisitely beautiful mahogany veneer, horizontally mirrored on the drawers at the height of the key entrances, enlivens the smooth surfaces on which the lavishly gilded bronzes unfold their effect. Some of the very finely crafted fittings can also be found on Empire furniture by Jacob...

Raymond Loewy DF-2000 Rosewood Chrome Red Plastic Drawer TV Stereo Console
By Raymond Loewy
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Proudly display your turntable and receiver on this compact console. Mount your flat-screen TV above to complete your setup. The restoration team pulled no punches on this authentic Raymond Loewy DF-2000 mini-credenza console, and the end result exceeded our expectations. We re-finished the rosewood on both front and back to accentuate the contrast between all of the diverse materials that make up this unit. As you can see, this console is fully finished in rosewood on the back and attractive from every direction. The bottom spanner was re-painted white and the cherry red, injection molded plastic drawer fronts were finally buffed and polished to a glassy shine. The top section drawer cabinet is separate from the base, and can be lifted off and screwed in place if desired. The bottom is a rosewood platform with polished chrome legs attached underneath. No need to worry about water marks and scratches with this top. The industrial strength laminate is ideal for TV and stereo components...

Antique Louis XVI French Demilune Marquetry Chest of Drawers Stamped Tondeur
Located in Firenze, IT
This wonderful French 18th century demilune (half moon) shaped sideboard or chest of drawers dating back to Louis XVI period (1774 -1791) -stamped by the French cabinet maker Tondeur- features great scale, perfect proportions and stunning high craftsmanship marquetry inlays. Two spacious sans travers drawers on front with antique original cast bronze hand crafted handles and a door on each side revealing a compartment with a shelf, all rests on four square tapered legs with a luxuriously veined Italian marble top featuring a beautiful grain and gorgeous soft colors including different shades of red, yellow, ocher, white and brown. This one of a kind magnificently inlaid commode featuring mother of pearl and bone inserts to enrich the central design and the allegories of music on the sides wich are a marquetry and cabinetmaking works of art themselves. The front houses two drawers with veneered sans travers marquetry with a central medallion masterfully inlaid depicting an unusual and whimsical scene: a fairy-tale rural countryside landscape with an old building that appears to be a church in the background, surrounded by a picturesque avenue of cypress and a monkey in the foreground picking up cocoa fruits from a tree - symbols of good luck and fortune- with a dog at its side. The round panel is finished with oval mother-of-pearl inserts, a ribbon inlaid on top all surrounded by a wreath of flowers and leaves . The inlays on the side doors are equally beautiful, so detailed as to seem painted. On each door, the marquetry is inspired by the theme of music, allegories with both wind and string instruments, sheet music and a hat all gathered in a magical composition enriched by floral inspired festoons, ribbons and tassels. The casework inside shows the mastery of the cabinetmaker and attention to detail, the doors are made of precious citronnier wood framed by an ebony band. This commode of narrow proportion is a wonderful example of 18th century French craftsmanship in storage cabinet making, entirely inlaid, stamped it is an exclusive one-of-a-kind Louis XVI period work of art certainly created for a very demanding and important client now ready to be the antique conversation...
