About the Item

Beautiful and rare screen print “Senza titolo” (architectural study) by Ettore Sottsass, 1986 Produced by Kalos Arti Applicate in 1986, signed and numbered 40/100 in pencil. Framed with glas. Very good condition. Dimensions 124.5 x 96.2 cm Ettore Sottsass (1917 – 2007) is the main figure of postmodernism. A predecessor in the fields of Architecture & design, highly influebtial as a curator and writer and last but not least co-founder of the Memphis Milano Group in 1981. Before founding Memphis Milano Sottsass belonged to the Italian anti-design movement, and joined Alessandro Mendini’s Studio Alchimia. Antidesign would target on artistic reflection on Design and architecture rather than following the path of a modern representational style in architecture and Design. His real ambitions have been no less than the re-creation of the everyday sphere in life. This Ethos guides Sottsass throughout his career and his contributions to the various fields he worked in. His approach to (re-)defining things became his Legacy and his influence remains.
