Colorful pastel abstract sculpture by Houston-based artist Angel Oloshove. The work features an abstract mountain shape that blends from yellow, to pink, and finally to blue. Oloshove uses different glaze techniques, including flocking, to create a variety of textures.
Artist Biography: Angel Oloshove studied painting at California College of the Arts. She worked in graphic design and toy development in Tokyo, for six years.
Her work often experiments with painterly glazes to express feelings of transcendental experiences through form and color. She has balance a fine art practice of sculptural ceramics as well has her own line of functional design pottery stocked in design boutiques throughout the United States. In 2017, her studio practice expanded into painting and printmaking culminating in an editioned artist book with Aventures LTD Press.
Her exhibition Floating Worlds was selected as a Critic’s Pick for the April 2015 issue of ArtForum. In 2015, she was named one of “Ten Modern Ceramists Shaping the Future” by AnOther Magazine. In 2019, she was shortlisted for the American Craft Council Emerging Artist Award.
Her most recent solo exhibition took place at the Ogden Museum Center for Southern Craft and Design (New Orleans, LA) in 2020- 2021. Her most recent commission in 2020, for the MD Anderson Cancer Center features 12 ceramics sculptures exhibited alongside 12 pastel drawings which is a part of their permanent collection.

Artist Biography: A graduate of Connecticut College, Krawczyk has studied fine art throughout Europe and apprenticed with various acclaimed sculptors. He realizes his biomorphic sculptures by cutting sheet stainless steel or bronze and welding, pounding and shaping with focused heat. Each sculpture is therefore unique, as the works are never cast from a mold.
Krawczyk draws inspiration from artists such as Picasso, Henry Moore and David Smith. He is not only influenced by the obvious masterful techniques of these artists, but also by their philosophies of the sculptural process.
Jon Krawczyk works in stainless steel, either brushed or highly polished, and in bronze, to which he applies intense patinas of earth tones and bright blues and greens. These works appear to have the geological marks of boulders, as sentinels that look comfortable in natural environments, can be abstract tendrils or wispy smoke-like forms that defy gravity, or long, thin, yet powerful lines that seem to jump into the sky. Milnes served as Dean of the College of Visuals Arts and Design at the University of North Texas from January 2006 to his retirement in August 2014, when he moved to Asheville, NC with his wife Karen, re-establishing Arbitrary Forms Studio there. A sculptor and ceramist, he served previously as Director of the School of Art and Design at San Jose State University in California, Director of the School of Art at Louisiana State University, and as Chair of the Art Department at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He taught at the Penland School of Crafts in 1972 and 1979.
Milnes is the past president of the National Council of Art Administrators and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. He has served as a consultant or evaluator for more than sixty universities, colleges, and independent schools of art in the US and abroad and served in Dallas on the Board of Directors of the Business Council for the Arts and as Chair of the Community Advisory Board for KERA, the NPR station for North Texas. He was recently named a Fellow and Lifetime Member of NASAD and served on the Board of Directors of the Center for Craft in Asheville, NC and as co-chair of the Blue Ridge Public Radio Strategic Planning Committee.
He is a member of the Southern Highland Crafts Guild.

About the Artist:
Bob Ragan is a nationally recognized master stone carver who has spent a lifetime studying art and architecture. During extensive travels throughout Europe and Central America, he researched the works and carving techniques of Old World masters.
Ragan and his partner Mary Condon founded the architectural and sculpture stone-carving firm Texas Carved Stone forty years ago. As a member of the National Stone Carvers’ Guild, he regularly teaches stone carving classes and mentors young people in the field.
Ragan's sculptures communicate a deep sense of spontaneity, originality, and creativity. He transfigures large blocks of stone into intricate designs that feel remarkably buoyant and often contain humorous elements.
Bob Ragan has been featured in numerous local publications, and state and national publications including Fine Homebuilding (June/July 1989), Southern Living (November 1991), Building Stone Magazine (Winter 2005), Tex Appeal (December 2012), the San Antonio Express News (June 5, 2005), the Dallas Morning News (May 20, 2003), the Texas Monthly (July 1996, July 1998), the Indiana Limestone Symposium, Stone World, Masonry Magazine, and Stone Update.
