About the Item
"Lucky 8", a gorgeous contemporary sculpture created by Scott P. Gentry, was inspired by numerology and Chinese culture. The number 8 is a symbol of balance with its symmetrical shape. For every blessing it receives, it puts another back out into the universe. In Chinese culture, the number 8 is considered the luckiest of all and Scott chose to add the gold leaf as a symbol of both beauty and prestige.
"Lucky 8" was carved from a solid piece of Atlantic black marble and embellished with over 90 perfectly placed divots that have been covered with 22K gold leaf to enhance the silhouette of the sculpture. It has been pinned atop a black granite base using an Italian, brass turning pin that allows for the sculpture to be turned 360 degrees on her base to appreciate the beauty of the sculpture from all angles.
