A glacier is melting in the Alps. The consequences, if it completely disappears together with the other glaciers, will be catastrophic: The ocean will rise and livelihood will vanish for many. Yes, the very place we inhabit each and everyone of us, nation, the earth we walk on - the home we seek refuge for safety - will in part be completely gone.

About Artist
Bakare Babatunde, born in Ogun State, Nigeria, is a dynamic artist whose journey in the world of art has been shaped by a rich cultural background. Completing his higher education in Lagos State, Nigeria, Bakare earned a Higher National Diploma in Library and Information Science, laying the foundation for a unique artistic perspective.
Bakare's artistic evolution began with pencil drawing, a modest start that eventually led him to experiment with various mediums. Among these, oil color, acrylic, and Ankara fabrics on canvas emerged as his favored mediums, allowing him to explore the depth of his creative vision. Having been nurtured by a Yoruba father who happens to be a twin was a major inspiration for creating this painting. In Yoruba culture, twins are considered a special blessing from God. They are mostly called ‘ibeji’ which means twins. In Yoruba society, twins are given special names, such as Taiwo (meaning “first to taste the world“) and Kehinde (meaning “second to taste the world”). It is mostly believed that twins have special privileges and are accompanied by several fortunes.
