About the Item

The Papa Bear Chair, designed by Hans J. Wegner, is one of the most iconic pieces of Danish vintage furniture. It is described as having the appearance of a bear with its hands outstretched, and is currently made by PP Mobler. This is a vintage piece, made by AP Stolen, which is now even more rare and valuable on the market. The most notable feature is the high quality of the chair, which was made with the utmost care and attention to detail using the technology of the time. The backrest is made of natural materials such as horsehair and palm fibre, and pocket coils are used to ensure a stable and outstanding fitting. The arms, commonly known as ‘claws’, are made of teak wood. The upholstery is made of navy and white-grey fabric from Danish Art Weaving LIMA, a Danish brand specialising in furniture fabrics with a history of more than 60 years, and a fabric that Arne Jacobsen, Hans J. Wegner and Finn Juhl have all highly appreciated. Weaving fabrics.
