The impressive pedestal displays a fine octagonal base below an elegant socle shaped support and tapered circular central column with fluted designs below the mottled circular top with lovely wrap around foliate designs. The white Carrara marble statue above displays a wonderfully executed ground designed base with charming branches and leaves where the beautiful nude young Aphrodite is kneeling. She has a finely detailed flowing fabric draped over her leg and is clutching a bird at her chest protecting it from the serpent at her feet. She wears a richly sculpted floral wreath in her hair and displays exceptional attention to detail throughout.
