Emile Galle-The Bretton Fishing Fleet-Exceptionally Rare Cameo glass signed vase
By Émile Gallé
Located in Worcester Park, GB
One of the rarest Galle images the Bretton Fishing Fleet cameo vase -depicting a flotilla of manned fishing boats of many sizes and designs and incredible detail many with sails up and many with just rigging. Signed, intaglio cut, Provost MkVI c1925-36 -see 4th image and chart at end for dating. This an absolute tour-de-force of the cameo technique -partly done by acid cut back, but most of the fine outline work (rigging etc) is done by fine wheel cutting. Very few other examples of this vase are known and they mostly reside in museums. Galle vases featuring sailing ship vases...

Set six mid-century silver & gilt Champagne flutes
By Stuart Devlin
Located in London, GB
Set stylish mid-century Champagne flutes with tapering cone-shaped stems and circular bases decorated in a mottled pattern and gilded. The hand-hammered bowls also have gilded interiors to create a most attractive and elegant appearance. This is a typical design from Stuart Devlin. At Langfords, we stock a large selection of antique and contemporary silverware from some of the most collectable silversmiths, including Stuart Devlin, Paul Storr, George Adams, Omar Ramsden and De Vecchi. Who is Stuart Devlin? In the 1960s, with old silversmithing techniques dying out, Devlin cut the chains of tradition and developed new techniques and experimented with old ones, to create radically different designs. His unique approach incorporated intricate silver-gilt decoration to produce a wide variety of tactile surfaces and filigree forms instead of just plain silver. Gilded filigree is an important design motif of his large centrepieces and candelabra, while silver-gilt features in Champagne flutes, goblets and beakers. His distinctive Easter egg and Christmas box curios, now collectors' items, are instantly recognisable as his. Among his most popular commissions, Devlin designed coins for 36 countries throughout the world, including the UK, and precious medals and coins for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games...

Bohemian Art Nouveau Harrach Purple to Clear Wheel cut shaped Glass Vase, 1900
By Harrach Glassworks
Located in Worcester Park, GB
A vibrant Art Nouveau purple to clear intaglio cut Harrach vase with rare shaped 'cut-out' top outlining the higher buds. Depicting Flowering Lilies highlighted with gilding. This style of intaglio cut vase (with cut-out top) was taken by Harrach to the 1900 Paris exhibition. Very unusually this vase has stylised geometric cuts radiating from the base. Harrach has been the backbone of Bohemian, and possibly European, glass for the last 300 years. It proudly celebrates its tri-centenary in 2012. Before Ludwig Moser was allowed to have his own Glassworks he, like almost everyone else in the region, bought his blanks from Harrach. In fact we will probably never know how much glass, supposedly made my other great glass makers of Europe, were in fact made and finished in the Harrach Glassworks. We do know that vast ranges of Legras was made by Harrach, probably under licence and possibly the majority of the glass we think of as Fratelli Tosso...
