An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique Victorian English sterling silver egg cruet set made by George Fox; part of our dining silverware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver egg cruet set consists of five egg cups displayed on the original stand with a central carrying handle. The original hallmarked egg cups have a bell-shaped form onto a circular spreading foot. These antique silver egg cups are embellished with pierced decorated interlacing scrolling designs, accented with an applied bead decorated border to the upper rim of each vessel. The decoration to the body of each cup incorporates two cast silver lion mask designs, each grasping a ring loop handle in the mouth. The plain pedestal foot of each egg cup bears a further applied bead decorated border to the rim. Each Victorian silver egg cup is supported and displayed on the cinquefoil-shaped stand, ornamented with further pierced decoration and lion masks, reflecting the design of the egg cups. The surface of the stand bears five peg receivers enabling the egg cups to stand securely in situ. The original antique stand of this antique cruet set...
