Turn of the Century Dentzel Standing Carousel Horse

About

The Dentzel Company of Philadelphia produced some of the finest carousel animals in America. Founded by German immigrant woodcarvers, the animals were beautifully detailed and extremely lifelike. Ours is a "stander", which occupied only the inside row. They are much more difficult to find over the "jumpers", and are quite sought after. This horse was expertly restored by Mark Miller in 1971, and was part of Wisconsin's House On The Rock collection. It was later featured in the December 1987 centerfold of Playboy magazine, which is included. The magnificent horse features jewels, glass eyes, and a real horse tail. He is in very fine condition, and displays beautifully. Brass pole is included.
