Vintage Moroccan Kilim
Located in Barrington, IL
Beautiful flatwoven rug or a kilim from the mid-1900s. The color scheme and design resemble the Navajo rugs from the Southwest US. A series of triangles in teal green, dark red, bluish-purple, black, and bright orange are arranged in a zigzag pattern down the center of the field. The charcoal border with repeating ivory diamonds. The top of the rug has more earth tones and muted colors whereas the backside has brighter colors as shown in the photo. So it is truly a two-sided carpet!! Because of the kilim flatweave, the rug can be used on either side depending on the design needs and color preference. The last six photos show the color for the backside of the kilim. Dimensions: 4’ 8” x 12’ 4” Date of Manufacture: 3rd Quarter of the 1900s Place of Origin: Morocco Material: Wool pile on a wool foundation Condition: Wear consistent with age and use The Persian Knot, SKU: 1346 Red Moroccan Kilims, Green Moroccan Rugs...

Late 19th-Century Turkish Heriz Serapi with Rare Pale Yellow Field
Located in Barrington, IL
A Late 19th Century Antique Persian Heriz Serapi Room Size Rug. A truly rare and highly desirable "near square" piece, this carpet from the late 1800s is a testament to the masterful craftsmanship and artistic tradition of Persian village weavers. This beautiful and colorful rug is a special example of its kind, featuring a highly sought-after pale yellow/ivory field color, which is exceptionally rare in Heriz Serapi weaving. The uncluttered open field design allows the intricate patterns and brilliant colors to truly shine, adding to the majesty of the piece. At the heart of the rug, a wonderful green central medallion and matching corner spandrels create a captivating focal point. This striking combination of the luminous pale yellow/ivory field with the vibrant green medallion and spandrels adds to the unique beauty of the rug. The design is further enriched by beautiful natural colors woven throughout the field and corners, including delicate pink and serene blue. The entire composition is expertly framed by a deep dark blue color border, which provides a strong and elegant enclosure for this beautiful carpet. The use of fine wool and natural dyes has created a rich, nuanced palette that remains as vibrant today as it was over a century ago. Antique Ghiordes Yastik Anatolian Rug
Located in Evanston, IL
Explore the legacy of Anatolian rugs, a term that encompasses the rich tapestry of carpets woven in Anatolia and its surrounding regions. Geographically, this area aligns with the historical dominion of the Ottoman Empire, a territory where the art of rug-making flourished. In ancient Anatolia, where harsh winters were a reality, ingenious weavers turned to the abundant resource of lamb's wool to craft thick-pile rugs that provided both warmth and comfort. Over millennia, this tradition evolved and was carried forth by nomadic Turks, eventually leaving an indelible mark on human culture and society. Vintage Kurdish Area Rug in Prayer Pattern in Camelhair, Brick, Navy, Lavender
Located in Barrington, IL
Vintage Kurdish tribal area rug in the "Prayer" pattern in camelhair, terracotta, navy circa the early 1900s. The camelhair field of the rug has three main designs. There is a border surrounding the main field in a beautiful pistachio color. The color can be seen better in the photo of the rug. The green natural dye color is very difficult to produce and is very sensitive to light. We also love the purple color of the rug.
