Yes, in many cases, GIA diamonds are worth more. To gain Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certification, a diamond must meet very high standards. As a result, diamonds that carry the certification usually have high color, cut and clarity ratings, making them more valuable than gemstones that can't meet the standards established by the GIA.
