Does a Rolex Datejust tick?

No, the Rolex Datejust does not tick in the usual sense. This mechanical watch receives eight impulses per second, rather than the single impulse that is familiar from quartz watches. These impulses could be described as a kind of tick, but they create a much smoother gliding movement and do not generate a “ticking” noise.
