Is Armani Collezioni the same as Armani?

Armani Collezioni is not exactly the same as Armani, but the two are closely related. Armani is the name for the celebrated Italian fashion house founded by Giorgio Armani in 1975. Armani Collezioni is a diffusion line that was launched by the brand in 1979 to offer high-end shirts, suits and other items at affordable prices. These garments were made-to-measure, wherein a tailor would customize using a standard-sized base pattern, but the line was available in department stores.
