A cap toe is a type of shoe that has horizontal stitching on the toe box that runs from the welt on one side to the other forming a cap shape on the toe box, hence the name cap toe. Cap-toe shoes are dressy and common business wear. They are mostly lace-up shoes (Derby or Oxford) but cap toes are also seen on loafers and monk strap shoes.
