Biography David Shapiro was born in 1944 in Brooklyn, NY. 1965 Skowhegan School of Art He earned his B.F.A. from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn in 1966 and his M.F.A. from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1968. Aside from participation in many international group shows, since 1971, Shapiro has held many solo exhibitions. Shapiro has also been invited as a visiting artist to many institutions including the Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, PA. In addition, he has taught at different art schools and universities including Parsons School of Design, New York, NY and Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY and his work is represented in public and corporate collections.
