What is the difference between chairs and stools?
1 Answer

The difference between chairs and stools is generally that the latter are more compact than the former. Traditional stools are backless and armless, unlike chairs, which usually have backs and often feature arms. However, some contemporary dining stools do have backs for added support. The difference between these dining stools and dining chairs is that the stools usually rest on pedestal bases, while chairs have four legs. On 1stDibs, find a wide variety of chairs and stools.
