When was Bennington pottery made?

1 Answer
When was Bennington pottery made?
Bennington pottery was made beginning in 1785, and pottery continues to be made in the town today. The term refers to pottery produced in Bennington, Vermont. The first pottery company that opened its doors there was Norton Pottery, founded by Captain John Norton, a Revolutionary War veteran. In 1847, a second company, United States Pottery Company, was established in the town. Although both Norton and the United States Pottery Company closed during the mid-20th century, a modern-day workshop, Bennington Potters, still makes pieces in Bennington.
