Who invented binoculars?
1 Answer

J. P. Lemiere invented binoculars. In 1825, he created the first example of modern-day binoculars, a pair of opera glasses that could magnify objects across short distances. Building on his work, Ignazio Porro unveiled a more powerful pair in 1854 by adding a prism system. On 1stDibs, shop a selection of binoculars.
