Who made EBEL watches has varied over the years. Initially, EBEL was an independent company founded by husband-and-wife team Eugène Blum and Alice Lévy in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 1911. The company's name is actually an acronym for their names: Eugène Blum and Lévy. The couple's son and grandson both helmed the company at various times during the 20th century before LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton bought EBEL in 1999. EBEL was sold again in 2004, this time to Movado Group. On 1stDibs, find a range of EBEL watches.
