About the Item
Between and Beyond is part of a body of work produced from various types of experimentation with the aesthetic form of language. This particular piece is the culmination of Lloyd’s investigations with the font Wingdings. Wingdings comes from the printing of the word, “dingbats” which are ornaments, characters, or spacers used in typesetting. The term continues to be used in the computer industry to describe fonts that have symbols and shapes in the positions designated for alphabetical or numeric characters.
