His spontaneous realistic portraits have been exhibited and sold in galleries in NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Oklahoma City, Venice Beach and Lawton, OK. Petersons highly sought after work has been collected by celebrities such as hip hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs, Swizz Beatz, James Cruz, Fabolous; as well as athletes like Carlos Boozer, Amare Stoudemire, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Derrell Revis. Peterson’s work has been commissioned from large corporate companies like Nike, Tony & Guy Hair, the NBA, Monster Products, and Sol Republic Headphones. In January 2017, Robert made Oklahoma history by becoming the first African American to ever receive the artist of the year in Southwest Oklahoma for not only his amazing works of art, but also his passion for philanthropy and art education. Later that same year, Peterson earned the Spectrum Spotlight Artist of the Year during Art Basel Miami where over a thousand other artist were showing their original work and vying for the same honor. Most recently Peterson was commissioned by the NBA team the Oklahoma City Thunder to create a painting to celebrate NBA All Star and MVP Russell Westbrook’s 108th triple double.
