A pair of large 19th century circular gilt frames housing a collection of minerals, we have done extensive research to attribute the mineral and their labels to a geologist and we believe we have found the man in question.
The label size, hand writing and style belong to The British mineral dealer Thomas Douton Russell
Russell was born in the parish of St.Sepulcher, London, Middlesex, England on March 1, 1838, He apparently began selling specimens in 1848, at the age of ten.
