Lap Desks

A beautiful handmade repurposed nautical box adapted from an antique lap desk. Decorated in a sophisticated pattern of seashells including muscles, scallops and abalone.

They specialized in ladies work boxes, writing boxes (lap desks) and dressing cases until 1898. Their boxes are considered exemplary and highly prized.
