This sophisticated iconic 'Korium' cognac leather sofa was designed by Tito Agnoli for Matteo Grassi. It features a strong structure, with a wing like appearance and timeless minimalistic design. The leather is stitched and molded onto the metal frame panels, a type of architectural design used by great designers in Italy during this period.
The red cognac leather is in good condition and shows traces of age and use.
The Grassi family – Matteo and his wife, and later on, his sons – opened a workshop in 1880 in a small village called Mariano Comense, located in northern Italy. They were specialized in crafting products for horses. At the end of the Second World War, the region, where the family company was located, developed into one of the liveliest areas for furniture making in Italy.
