Stasys Eidrigevicius

Stasys Eidrigevičius was born in 1949 in Mediniškiai, Lithuania. A Lithuanian-Polish painter, illustrator and graphic artist. He studied at the Fine Arts Institute in Vilnius. Since 1980, he has lived and worked in Poland. He creates exlibrises, book illustrations, posters and other artwork. His art has gained recognition in Poland and abroad. Since 1985, a significant part of his art constitutes pastel painting. In the 90s, he returned to oil painting. His art is situated on the borderline of metaphor, surrealism and fantasy. Works by Eidrigevičius are to be found in many private and public collections, including National Museum in Warsaw, British Museum in London, Museum of Modern Art in New York, National Library in Washington, Vatican Museums in Rome and Creation Callery in Tokyo. In 2010, he was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.
