Sublime 709 - Green Colorful Original Photographic Collage Mixed Media Artwork
Sublime 709 - Green Colorful Original Photographic Collage Mixed Media Artwork

Sublime 709 - Green Colorful Original Photographic Collage Mixed Media Artwork

By Tae Ho Kang

Located in Los Angeles, CA

Inspired by the artists of the Modern Art era, including Post-Impressionist Paul Cezanne, Kang visualizes the modern day search for identity in an age where information and images permeate every aspect of contemporary life. His architectural urban scenes are flattened, with everything pressed against the surface of the artwork. At times, multiple views of the same houses are visible, trees and bushes are vaguely alluded to, and the color palette finds a hectic balance. Just as a city operates in a balance of chaos and the sublime, so do the artworks of Kang. The Sublime is an euphoria that affects the deep recesses of one’s consciousness. As is this experience of the sublime, his work is largely abstract. This large colorful horizontal artwork is 38 inches high by 48 inches wide. The sides of this textured, original mixed-media artwork are finished as a continuation of the front and it does not require framing. It is hand-signed and dated by the artist on the back. It is wired and ready to hang. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable U.S. and worldwide shipping is available. Provenance: Artspace Warehouse. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Tae Ho Kang was born in Seoul, Korea in 1945. He studied at the College of Arts of Hongik University in Seoul, South Korea. He later moved to California to study Fine Art at California State University, where he graduated in 1980. Since then, his artworks have focused on the never-ending quest for home and belonging in a dense urban landscape. About his mixed media artworks, he remarks: “One day, when I was traveling, I was impressed by the beautiful scenery of the city under the sky, with many straight lines, curved lines, and harmonies of different colors, which seemed to be a magnificent orchestral performance. The beauty of this urban landscape gave me a deep impression and great change began to take place in my work. I wanted to be a molecule in this huge space. I have to find a house of my heart to be molecule. Where is the house I live in? What is my identity? This question has begun to arise. I am on a long journey to find my own house.” His mixed media collage artworks have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions as well as international art fairs throughout the US and in Korea. Kang's work has also been featured in Television and Film productions, including Criminal Minds, NCIS Los Angeles, Unforgettable, The Mindy Project, The Great Indoors, and American Housewife. His artworks have been exhibited and acquired by private collectors around the world. Please note: On display at the S. Wilson and Grace M. Pollock Education Center Gallery at the Susquehanna Art Museum (1401 N 3rd St, Harrisburg, PA 17102) from August 12 through November 30, 2025. Sold artwork will be shipped to collectors following the close of the exhibition in January 2026.  This piece is an original artwork by Jason Chen titled "Seconds Later". It is made of archival pigment prints from the artist's photography that he cuts and weaves together by hand. The piece measures 34”h x 22”w and ships framed in the pictured 37”h x 25”w frame. In 2012, Jason Chen shifted his long-running focus on dry plate tintypes to a new process: photo weaving. Chen began using two separate images of the same person, then wove them together in a process exploring time, movement, process, and mutation. He has exhibited works in the series one by one over the years, but in Fragments, his 2015 solo exhibition at Paradigm Gallery, a full collection of these works were on display together for the first time. Bio // Jason Chen is originally from Guangzhou, China. He received his BFA in Animation from the University of Arts in 2008. Located in Berkeley, CA

Kota Ezawa recreates animated sequences from television, cinema, and art history. He uses basic digital drawing and animation software to create slide projections, light boxes, collages, and prints. In the vein of Warhol, his highly stylized facsimiles of familiar and often infamous images emphasize the distance between the viewer and the depicted figures that feature so prominently in America’s collective memory. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and the San Francisco Museum of Art, California among others. The artist is represented by the Cheryl Haines Gallery...

Angel (Little Egypt) State III

Angel (Little Egypt) State III

By Barbara Takenaga

Located in Lyons, CO

Color lithograph with gold metallic powder, Edition 15. Barbara Takenaga writes: “About the prints, they’re part of a series of recent Angel paintings — which were influenced by seeing a small painting fragment of angel’s wings by Fra Angelico. I liked the way the feather pattern is similar to the Asian motif of fish scales or waves of water. There is a reference to the natural world, as well as the heavenly, but in an abstract, decorative approach. With the scale change of smaller elements in the center and larger dots on the edge, there is the implication of folded space that moves from near to distant — with some sensation of being pulled toward a far off place. The metallic background is dusted with gold or pearlescent powder over deep orange, which gives the surface some shimmer and color change. The title, Angel (Little Egypt), comes from the colors that are reminiscent of ancient Egyptian collars...
