White 3D Printed Ceramic Sculptural Vase Italy Contemporary, 21st Century
By Andrea Salvatori
Located in London, GB
"Composizione 40100 #02" (In crescendo), 2019, glazed earthenware, measures: H 47 x 30 x 30cm Andrea Salvatori (Italy, 1975) is an internationally renowned visual artist working with the ceramic medium to realize often ironic and witty sculptures, sometimes involving a diverse selection of found objects, such as Murano glass vases, Meissen Porcelain miniatures or Ginori period ceramics sourced in flea markets around Europe. Salvatori’s works often begin with these items and proceed by the addition of elements masterfully created by the artist, generating an unexpected semantic shift. The result is unique, encompassing pop culture and kitsch aesthetics: a witty and effective way to turn reality upside-down and at the same time a powerful combination of exquisite craftsmanship and genuine irony. Andrea Salvatori was born on 3 of March 1975 in Faenza (Ra), Italy; he has graduated at the Istituto d’arte for Ceramic in Faenza in 1995, and he then graduated with a Degree in Sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Bologna in 2000. During his studies, Andrea learned the secrets of ceramics from the creative duo Bertozzi & Casoni having worked as an apprentice in their studio for many years at the same way as during Renaissance artists learned their practice with their Masters. Since 1997 he had several individual and collective exhibitions. In 2009 he won the first prize at the 56th edition of the prestigious Premio Faenza, the International Contest of Contemporary Art Ceramics, for which he classified second in the prior edition. In 2011 he classified second at the Sidney Myer Fund Australian Ceramic...

Phoenix - large, bright, colourful gestural abstract, diptych, acrylic on canvas
By Milly Ristvedt
Located in Bloomfield, ON
Horizontal bars of blue, maroon, cherry red, pink, lemon yellow, burnt orange and green communicate on a soaked sand colored ground of this diptych by Milly Ristvedt. The rhythm of the spaces between the short lengths of color creates a dialogue of movement that leads the eye upwards through the large picture plane. The title of the work Phoenix refers to classical Greek mythology, the bird that when it dies rises again from its ashes. "This is also one of the rare paintings that I saw clearly in a dream and painted almost exactly as I saw it. It relates back to the four-panel work, "Lock-Up" (1972), done a couple of months earlier, where I used the physical break between panels as an edge to anchor some colour bars. In Phoenix some bars are anchored while others float within the larger ground colour." This painting was included in the exhibition catalogue Milly Ristvedt-Handerek: Paintings of a Decade (1979). Ristvedt, RCA, began her career in Toronto in 1964 after studies with Takao Tanabe at the Vancouver School of Art. In Toronto, during the 1960s and 1970s, she was making and exhibiting large scale paintings alongside a small but defined group of non-figurative painters who, like Ristvedt, had planted...

Original 'Produits Lavocat' vintage poster for Force and Energy
Located in Spokane, WA
Original vintage poster: Lavocat aliments irradies. Force, Energie par les produits. This is a classic French late Art Deco period poster featuring a buff rugby player almost outpacing a steed - due no doubt to Lavocat, an 'irradiated' food. Even today, the American FDA believes that irradiating food can burn off harmful bacteria, airborne germs, and other microbes which can adversely affect food. We love this poster's depth of color, texture, and oomph - powerful and very, very Art Deco. This poster is an original Art Deco lithograph. This poster is related more to sports and running than food, but food provides energy. Note that the red is cherry red since different monitors produce the red color of this poster in different qualities. Excellent condition, undated on the poster. Behind the rugby runner is a black horse that appears to be neck and neck...
