This lithography belongs to a limited edition of 2500 copies of a special catalogue / portfolio of the artist from her retrospective exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, 1991. Each copy is formed by a set of ten lithographs that were printed on a translucent white vellum paper. This print is one of this 10. In original good condition. Agnes Martin (1912-2004) built her oeuvre around the search for sublime beauty and serenity, following her belief that “art is the concrete representation of our most subtle feelings.” Her fine-lined grids, bands and square blocks of pale, lightly applied color fused the emotional resonance of Abstract Expressionism with the spare purity of Minimalism.
