18th c. Italian school Santa Veronica, after Simone Pignoni. Period copy by an unknown hand of the original oil painting by Pignoni. The original Pignoni painting was conserved in the Church of S. Eusebio in Cegliolo (Cortona) and now in the permanent collection of the Musée Fabre in Montpellier, France. In the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Marseille, there is another period copy by an unknown hand, considered of lesser quality than the current example.
