Artist: Amanda Danitschek
'Azure & Sand', California Figurative Abstraction, Pacific Art League, Palo Alto
By Amanda Danitschek
Located in Santa Cruz, CA
Initialed lower left, 'A.D.' for Amanda Danitschek (American, born 1956) and painted circa 2010. Additionally signed twice, verso, and titled, 'Against All Odds (12 Stories)' A substantial Modernist figural oil showing a view of a woman standing before an azure band of distant ocean. Born in Delano, California, Amanda Danitschek first studied art and design at San Jose City College and, subsequently, at West Valley College, Saratoga. Danitschek explores her fascination with postures, expressions, and colors in her collages and paintings through unconventionally observed figures that appear untethered from the physical world. Speaking of her work, the artist has said: "My figurative paintings are a menagerie of quirky creatures that evoke a curious sense of dislocation. They are redolent of actors in a play, characters from a novel and depression-era survivors. I am fascinated by postures, expressions, colors and textures. I eliminate detail so that the persona is left with only their essence. The alternative reality is shared with birds, boats and ethereal costumes. The stage is set and the figures are finding their path; their role in life." Selected Exhibitions 2021 - San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, Revisiting the Vessel 2021 - San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, Finding Spaces Exhibit 2020 - San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, Brushstrokes, Juror's Award of Excellence 2018 - John Natsoulas Gallery, 2nd International Figurative Biennale 2016 - John Natsoulas Gallery, Amanda & Mark Danitschek Collaborative Show 2015 - John Natsoulas Gallery, The Art of Painting in the 21st Century, Davis CA 2015 - John Natsoulas Gallery, Bark Show, Davis CA 2014 - John Natsoulas Gallery, Small Works Show, Davis CA 2014 - John Natsoulas Gallery, The Art of Painting in the 21st Century (Catalog), Davis CA 2014 - John Natsoulas Gallery, Bark Show, Davis CA 2014 - Lilify Gallery, Solo Show, Monterey CA 2013 - ACGA Juried Members Show, Brea CA 2012 - Lark Books, 500 Prints on Clay 2011 - Pacific Art...

Signed lower right, 'A.Danitschek' for Amanda Danitschek (American, born 1956) and painted circa 2010. Additionally signed, verso, and titled, 'No One Said It Would Be Easy'. A substantial Modernist figural oil showing a view of a man dressed in a multi-colored coat and leaning away from a scumbled, parchment and ivory background. Born in Delano, California, Amanda Danitschek first studied art and design at San Jose City College and, subsequently, at West Valley College, Saratoga. Empowering #18 - Colorful Figurative Original Art on Canvas
By Fabio Coruzzi
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Italian artist Fabio Coruzzi merges painting and photography into one imaginative image that offers a new outlook on an otherwise ordinary urban scene. His artworks represent an authenticity unlike any other: layered, textural, controversial, open to imagination, colorful, personal, and inspiring. Coruzzi’s work encapsulates not only urban environments, but the inhabitants as well. Irony is laced between figures drawn with an energetic architectural hand. His work is colorful, funny, and biting through resolutely rendered vignettes of people and places. Fabio Coruzzi used acrylic paint, oil pastel, gel ink, and graphite to create this one-of-a-kind original artwork on canvas. It is signed by the artist on the front and back. This colorful 24-inch high by 30-inch wide painting is stretched, wired, and ready to hang. The top of the artwork is a continuation of the front and the sides are painted white. It does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable U.S. and worldwide shipping is available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Fabio Coruzzi was born in Foggia, Italy in 1975, and now resides in Southern California, USA. Remarking on his work in conjunction with his perspective on urban environments, Fabio states: "I wish that each painting I make should be like a poem of the place where I've been. I wish to become a poet of our time, like somebody would tell: "I've been there", but telling that my way, telling the audience that, no matter where we are, in a boulevard or in a restaurant, each single place is like an empty box that needs to be filled with the intense energy of our existence. Each place leaves a mark, like a scar, inside us. I wish that scar becomes poetry." Winner of the 2021 ENEGANART Prize, Coruzzi's work has been widely collected and exhibited internationally, with great acclaim for his faithfully candid approach to city life and human idiosyncrasy: "It’s a melting pot of different gestures, different perspectives. Mixed media mold together these different perspectives, creating the urban environment. Contemporary culture is made of controversy: modernity includes ugliness, imperfection, and contamination, anything that creates texture."
