Anna Elisabeth de Noaille Art

Anna Comtesse Mathieu de Noailles was born on November 15, 1876, in Paris. She was a French painter and watercolorist of genre scenes and flowers. She was one of the pupils of Karl Moreau and she also wrote several poetry collections, like Le Coeur innombrable and Les Éblouissements. Towards the end of her life, she dedicated herself to the pastels and transposed her emotions through flowers. She died on April 30, 1933, in Paris.

This work was intentionally torn and mended. It predates the artist's full immersion, years later into torn and re-pasted collages, using ripped previous drawings and paper-based materials from media. These recently discovered 1984 oversize drawings on archival papers were created working quickly, from a live model.
